Fabric Ribbon Engraving with a Laser
Customize fabric ribbon to say exactly what you want! Adding ribbon to a variety of items adds a fun and personal touch - whether it's gift wrapping, scrapbooking or adding a border to a decorative frame.
Specialty ribbon. Ours was 1.5" wide and varying lengths. We purchased ours through
May Arts, but any local craft store will have suitable options. Fabric glue - available at most craft stores.
An Epilog Laser System
We used a 50-watt Helix with the following settings: 90% speed, 35% power for engraving, and 70% speed, 40% power, 2500 frequency for cutting.
Open the file you wish to engrave. Modify as necessary.
Insert the ribbon into the laser.
Send the job over and you're all set!
Tip: To produced a multi-layer look with great contrast, adhere laser cut ribbon to blank ribbon with fabric glue. For more information on the laser systems used to make this project,
